Parker School Dramatiques present ‘Mother Courage and Her Children’

WAIMEA — Students in Parker School Dramatiques will present three performances of their upcoming show, “Mother Courage and her Children,” this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the historic Parker School Theatre.

    With an increase of student participation in multiple grades and events, the school’s track and field team is in need of equipment for training and practicing. Waimea Elementary needs hurdles, discuses, batons for relay races and shot put balls.

    NORTH HAWAII — Papa Ola Lokahi announced Sept. 19 nine scholars in diverse medical and allied health training programs throughout the state that have received the Native Hawaiian Health Scholarship. Two of the recipients live in North Hawaii: Gaylyn Mattos from Hawi and Luana Kealealani from Waimea.

It will focus on their statewide digital learning initiative and student news program.

    Students, their families and community members can participate in Waimea Middle School’s fifth annual 1.5 or 3-mile run/walk event Sept. 29. Registration and a silent auction with gift baskets created by students and families will begin at 4 p.m. in the cafeteria, followed by the run and walk at 5 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served.
